{ VIRTUAL Birth Prep Class }

What if I told you birth is not complicated?

What if I told you that almost everything you’ve been told about pregnancy and labor is mostly untrue?

What if I told you that obstetricians are board-certified surgeons and most surgeons love to perform surgeries?

What if I told you you don’t need a doctor to be pregnant and birth a baby?

What if I told you that the United States spends the most on maternal health yet has the worst outcomes among other developed counties? In fact, our maternal mortality rate is actually rising.

But what makes me an expert?

I spent the better part of a decade studying and breeding horses in addition to obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. After that, I worked as a veterinary technician for nearly a decade as well. What does veterinary medicine or horses have to do with Mothers and birth? Well, it turns out humans are mammals, and mammalian birth is mammalian birth no matter which species we are discussing. All mammals have the same requirements for birth. Sadly, the basics of mammalian birth are not part of a medical school or nursing school curriculum. Thus, most folks working in obstetrics with a bunch of letters after their name are mostly ignorant when it comes to mammals and birth.

What if you could spend a few days with me and learn all you need to know about birth?

This is a three-part series class for expecting parents that gives you all the knowledge you need to bring your baby into this world peacefully, with power and confidence. Knowledge gives us power and that’s the purpose of this class: to give you the knowledge you are not going to find within the system of obstetrics. Unfortunately, it’s likely your doctor doesn’t know most of what we cover in this class. Nor does most of our society.

Part 1

Kicking off this three-part series we will cover facts and figures about pregnancy. Part one will cover the myths we’ve been told about pregnancy - what to eat, what to avoid, what we are capable of doing physically, and how to treat our bodies. Students will learn what they can do during pregnancy to support a healthy labor and birth as well as the single most important decision you will make during pregnancy.

Part 2

The second part of this series will cover the stages of labor and birth. Topics include but not limited to: what is imperative for mammals in labor and why, the physiology of labor during each stage, how birth is designed to take place, and what to do to ensure alignment with biology. Part two also covers how to keep birth as “safe” as possible. Students will be given doula tips and tricks to help manage labor.

Part 3

The third and final part of this class series will cover immediate newborn care in the postpartum period. This includes what babies need upon birth, what newborns are immediately expecting upon arrival, what Mothers need when they meet their baby, Dad’s role in these moments, and what is truly required for baby’s health. Nursing and lactation are also discussed as well as how easily that can be derailed.

Ready to learn more?

Whether you are a first time parent or a seasoned parent looking for a better experience next time, I can help you.

The significance of mammalian birth is obsolete in mainstream childbirth education classes. You will leave this class with a new understanding of pregnancy, birth, and babies that you won’t hear anywhere else. (Trust me, I looked!)

This online class is available on a monthly basis either privately or in a group setting. Dates and times for private classes agreed upon between you and me at time of booking.

I can’t wait to meet you, and support you!
